AmeriCorps is a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service, an independent federal agency created to connect Americans of all ages and backgrounds with opportunities to give back to their communities and their nation.
The purpose of AmeriCorps is to engage AmeriCorps members in direct service and capacity building to address unmet community needs.
Communities In Schools - Central Texas AmeriCorps is one of over 30 AmeriCorps programs in Texas and you can be one of 75,000 AmeriCorps members serving communities across the United States. CIS-CT AmeriCorps members serve as tutors, mentors, and service learning project leaders in Central Texas public schools.
As a CIS-CT AmeriCorps Member, you will receive professional training, gain memories that last a lifetime and build your resume. Members may also receive a living allowance during service and an Education Award to be used for college expenses.
