
What is Y-FOCIS? Y-FOCIS (Young Friends of Communities In Schools) is a group of young professionals who support Communities In Schools' mission to help kids stay in school and prepare for life. Yes! I want to join FOCIS! The only requirement to becoming a member of Y-FOCIS is meeting an annual $240 membership fee. You can pay a one-time membership fee or through monthly credit card installments at $20/month for 12 months. All membership fees go directly to support the work of Communities In Schools. Leadership Breakfast - May 13th 7:30-9:00am - Special Guest Speaker, Thom Singer Topic: Networking and Building More Business Members: FREE Future Members: $10 Thom Singer has more than 18 years of sales and marketing experience with firms such as RR Donnelley, Brobeck Phleger & Harrison LLP, Andrews Kurth LLP, Marsh, Inc., and Wells Fargo Bank. He is an expert in branding, positioning and networking, and has trained thousands of professionals in the art of building professional contacts that lead to increased business. Thom has authored numerous articles for business and marketing publications, including The Austin Business Journal, The Legal Marketing Portal and Professional Marketers Forum Magazine. An accomplished speaker and presenter, Thom was a semi-finalist in the 2002 Toastmasters International World Championship of Public Speaking, placing second in the Region III competition, making him among the top 18 Toastmasters of 20,000 who competed that year. How You Can Help: Are you or your friends experts in party planning, dee-jaying, catring, or photography? Are you an artistic guru who can turn an ordinary piece of construction paper into an invitation masterpiece? Can you help us turn a cafeteria into a party palace? Are you hard to say no to and don't mind solicitating business for fun door prizes and party favors? Are you a good hostess and/or server that could help greet and serve families?
