Communities In Schools’ signature event, Food for Thought proved to be a resounding success with powerful chairs at the world class Austin City Limits Live music venue. Mouth-watering signature dishes were prepared by twenty of Austin’s most exclusive restaurants and guests were treated to live music from Erin Ivey as well as 16-year-old fiddle-playing phenom, Ruby Jane.

Led by event chairs Congressman Michael McCaul, Senator Kirk Watson, Former Lt. Governor Ben Barnes and philanthropist Mort Topfer, the event shined a spotlight on the critical services Communities In Schools provides for students at risk for dropout. Presented by Silicon Labs, the 16th annual event was the most successful to date, raising over $325,000.
