Basic Campus Services
Communities In Schools provides professional social services to students who meet the statistical profile of being at risk of dropping out of school. We are located on 48 public school campuses from pre-K through 12th grade
Services include the following
- Counseling and Supportive Guidance (individual, group,family and crisis counseling)
- Heath and Human Services (referrals for basic needs, medical clinics, nutrition, prenatal education, WIC cards, community health fairs)
- Parental Involvement (home visits, family counseling, parenting classes)
- Pre-Employment/Employment (resume building, workforce training and development, computer skills, mentoring, math and science activities)
- Enrichment (field trips, celebrations, community festivals)
- Educational Enhancement (tutoring, homework clubs, mentoring, reading groups, book clubs)
Programming is funded by the Texas legislature and is administered through the Texas Education Agency. Additional funding comes from United Way Capital Area, the independent school districts where programs are located, and contributions from individuals who care about education.
